I know that this group isn't for torrent content per se but I'd like to pick
the brains of the regulars...

I'm poor. An invalid on welfare trying to keep my mind busy and away from
the perils of daytime TV (shoot me if I ever lose the battle please). I was
recently gifted an older tablet when the owner upgraded and, as I spend a
lot of time in doctors waiting rooms have started using it for reading pdfs
of magazines (Popular Mechanics / Science etc.) on it. The magazines
supplied in these places are usually mind-numblingly boring and on the rare
occasion I find a good one I hate stoppong reading halfway through when my
name is called....

Anyway can anyone point me in the direction of a good site / tracker for
torrent for such files? I'd pay for them if I could but I really am poor as
hell and struggle to pay essentials.

TIA for any help. Alll the best for 2016.

I should have mentioned that I find quite a few on KAT but I'm a bit of a
completeist / collector / horder / have OCD (and also spend a *lot* of time
in waiting rooms) and so would love to get more 'issues'.

Cheers,

I live in the UK, and as soon as I find a "good site / tracker for

such files" (!), my ISP very kindly blocks it due to a government that
allows the bankers to break all the laws they like, and not pay their
taxes, but insist us Internet users abide by the rules they set down,
such as deeming free downloads off the web by any means is illegal.

Having got rid of that rant, I generally use good old Google, putting in
what I want followed by the word "torrent". And that works almost all
the time. I just have to try each link till one of them actually gets
past my ISP.

Thanks for the reply Jim. I've been doing the Google thing sometimes as
well. I was hoping that there was a site that specialised in magazine pdfs
so it would make it easier. (I've been looking at Googles results trying to
find a trend but no luck.) I was hoping that perhaps there might be a
membership site that someone might know about and could give me a heads up
on. (My email works.)

I'm in New Zealand and <finers crossed> so far haven't had issues with site
blocking etc.

Cheers.

Try putting in what you want followed by ' filetype:torrent ' (without
quotes).

Thanks buddy. That seems to cut down on spurious 'results'. ;)

reminds me of the old Tommy Cooper joke:

"Went to the doctor's the other day. Had to wait a bit so I picked up a
magazine - shame about that Titanic."

LOL! I miss some of those old-time comedians. I used to really enjoy staying
up late to watch Dave Allen.

All kinds of Dave Allen stuff on KAT you know. Quite a bit is nominally
unseeded though.

I've found with some unseeded stuff though that I can move them to a
holding directory and let them run long term. Quite often they'll pick
up at some point (might take months) when someone "accidentally" seeds
them. It's also worth looking for the same stuff on TPB and adding their
trackers into the mix if they aren't already there (quite often they
aren't).

Yeah thanks, I have quite a few torrents that have taken months to get. :)

There's also a bunch of Dave Allen stuff on youtube which I've downloaded..
